Australian Wildlife ConservancyThe Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of Australia's threatened wildlife and ecosystems. It is a relatively young organisation, officially becoming a public charitable organisation in 2001, but significant progress has already been made to save Australia's threatened wildlife.
AWC owns 23 sanctuaries which cover more than three million hectares around Australia, protecting over 100 threatened ecosystems and 170 threatened wildlife species, more than any other non-government conservation group in the country.
The success of AWC is largely due to their heavy focus on practical on-ground conservation programs based on the best available science. Programs include targeting feral animals, weeds and inappropriate fire regimes.
We are proud supporters of the AWC and if you would like to learn more about their work across Australia you can subscribe to their bulletin by clicking here
