Day 1 - Take a private helicopter to the Blue Mountains

Pick up from your city hote at 08:30 and travel by private luxury road transfer to Bankstown airport to meet up with your pilot from Hughes Helicopters.  After a short safety briefing you will take off for your 45 minute flight over Sydney's western suburbs and into the wilderness of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area beyond.  The valleys and sheer sandstone escarpments of the mountains have been sculpted by millions of years of erosion leaving some of the most spectacular wilderness scenery anywhere in Australia.  Your pilot will behind the more touristed areas of the central mountains and land in a remote valley on the Wollondilly River - here you meet up with your local wilderness guide, Mark Tickner. 

As this is an exclusive experience, Mark will tailor your time with him to suit your interests; perhaps a visit to Wombeyan Caves, bush walking, wildlife spotting, fly-fishing and kayaking.  Mark is a local guide, whose knowledge of the bush tracks and rivers is second to none, and whose relationship with local property owners provised access to properties on the southern boundaries of the Blue Mountains National Park.

Your accommodation is on the banks of the Wollondilly River.  Amidst the eucalypt and casuarinas bush, your bed is a 'swag', the bedding of choice for generations of bushmen.  Our swags are the deluxe version, mounted on timber platforms and with 100% organic cotton sheets, soft pillows and a duvet for the cooler evenings.  Above you is a canopy of stars stretching across the night skies.  Your en suite camp shower and eco-loo are surrounded by canvas but open to the trees and skies above.

The living area is a simple canvas and timber structure on the sandy floor of the riverbank and includes a small reference library.  After a day of fishing, canoeing, bushwalking or exploring by 4WD, kick back with a cold beer or a chilled glass of wine and watch the sun set.  Mark will be happy to chat about the days events as he sets the dining table on the bank of the river.  As you nibble canapés and help yourself to another drink, he will prepare a delicious meal - perhaps a traditional camp-oven roast or seafood BBQ followed by a sweet treat.  Afterwards relax around the campfire in your own private wilderness - the sounds of Australia's mostly nocturnal wildlife are all around.

Day 2 - 2 nights at Wolgan Valley

After a good nights sleep beneath a canopy of stars wake to fresh brewed coffee and perhaps a swim or a walk before breakfast.  After which it is time to take-off on your flight to Wolgan Valley.

Your stay at Wolgan Valley includes accommodation in a Heritage Suite, gourmet breakfast, lunch and 3-course dinner daily, non-alcoholic beverages and a selected range of regional wines and beer with meals, and two on-site nature based activities per person per day.

Emirates' Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa is a luxury conservation-based resort located in Australia's Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage area, about 3 hours drive from Sydney.

Modelled on the acclaimed Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai, but with an Australian style, the resort is set within its own private conservation and wildlife reserve where guests can enjoy absolute luxury tranquillity and connection with nature.

Day 3 - at leisure at Wolgan Valley

Today is at your leisure at Wolgan Valley.  Enjoy two on-site nature based tours per day.

Day 4 - Return to Sydney

Transfer by private 4WD to Sydney via the Bells Line of Road (approx. 3 hours).

Marvel at the sheer rock escarpments and rugged geography of this unique landscape as you pass through Mt Victoria and Lithgow. Travelling through the Blue Mountains you will pass by quaint old villages and apple orchards. Stopping at Australia’s most elevated botanical gardens at Mount Tomah, enjoy breathtaking views with a fresh coffee and some morning tea. From here we connect with the picturesque Bells Line of Road to your Sydney CBD hotel.
