Day's Outline
The Louise is sited at the hilltop in Marananga and is central to the wineries, vineyards and touring activities of this internationally renowned wine region. Each of the fifteen suites offers a private terrace, contemporary furnishings, a spacious en suite bathroom and superb sunrise or sunset views. Guest suites feature king beds, luxurious linens, spa tubs, dual rain showers and a Bose CD; while the amenities include a heated swimming pool, spa & sauna, boules, bicycles, internet workstation & wireless internet access.
The Louise's restaurant - Appelation offers a casual fine dining experience in elegant surrounds. The menu changes daily and focuses very much on locally sourced seasonal produce. The Executive Chef and his team are keen to provide informed service and make suggestions from the extensive wine list. Please ask us to make a booking on your behalf.

The Barossa is Australia's richest and best-known viticultural and winemaking region. The wine industry here developed along a different route from the tradtional European practice of grower/winemakers. Although some growers did make wine for their own use, the majority sold grapes to the wineries. The regions pool of 540 expert vignerons have blended their knowledge of the land with modern viticultural practice, creating a partnership with the wineries whose specialist skills make the most of this superb fruit. Barossa is renowned for its Rieslings, which is indicative of the Valley's German heritage, and for the reds such as Shiraz and Cabernets.
Day's Outline
Arkaba Station, at the foot of the Elder Range, is possibly the most beautiful outback property in the country! Its spectacular panoramas are best enjoyed, with a chilled glass of wine in hand, as the sun sets over the craggy sandstone bluffs. In a quintessential Australian scene the wildlife will emerge to drink at waterholes along the dry creek beds that are lined with river red gums. Over 300 species of bird and unique mammal species abound in the Flinders Ranges but it is the region's geology that makes it so special. The Flinders are an insight into the depth of Australia's geological history, extending back more than a billion years, with the evidence of long-disappeared mountain ranges, beaches, tidal flats, reefs and glacial moraines still visible in the rocks to this day.
At Arkaba Homestead Pat & Sally Kent invite guests to share in Station life. Built in 1851 the homestead and garden grounds have five traditional en suite guest rooms, each opening onto a verandah. The rooms are air conditioned and have been designed with the homestead's heritage in mind. A comfortable library provides some seclusion for enjoying a quiet drink and a good book, while dinner is often hosted on the terrace overlooking the ranges. A wet edge pool and relaxing areas overlook the Arkaba Creek. A self-service bar with a selection of beverages is available to guests and the resident chef provides traditional station cuisine with some contemporary and native elements to jazz it up. Before dinner, guests can choose their wines from a predominantly South Australian cellar.

Day's Outline
During your stay learn about the activities of an outback station and visit the old wooshed, the focus of the station's annual shearing since 1856. On bush walks, picnics and 4WD safaris explore the gorges and valleys of the Flinders Ranges and keep an eye out for wildlife - Red Kangaroos, Emus, Euros, Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies.
