Sal Salis - Experienced Field Guides
Experienced field guides required at Sal Salis, Ningaloo Reef- Marine Background pre-requisite:
Season 11th March 2012 - 15th Jan 2013
We are looking for individuals with a genuine love of nature and the desire to inspire others with their knowledge and passion. Our field guides are effectively naturalists, who are constantly extending the bounds of their own, as well as our guests’, environmental knowledge. They are also responsible for the safety of our guests when guiding in the water and in the bush as well as in camp.


Required qualifications:
• Senior First Aid
• Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Driver’s licence with a F extension
Purpose of the job:
To conduct guided activities at Sal Salis so that guests come away inspired by the natural and cultural experience of Ningaloo Reef and the Cape Range National Park.
Key Responsibilities:
Educating guests in the natural history of Ningaloo Reef and the surrounding area by conducting guided activities.
Ensure that safety procedures are adheared to in all touring activities
Ensure that vehicles and equipment are maintained for operations
Ensuring that guest experience in camp exceeds expectations
Ensure that guests come away with an increased appreciation of the conservation in Australia
Activities:
Driving vehicles in daily touring activities
Conducting guided gorge walks
Leading snorkelling trips and sea kayaking
Reading and research into the local environment to continually improve guiding skills and knowledge
Meeting and greeting clients at the airstrip or entrance to the camp
Conducting vehicle checks each day/week
Communicating the work of the Australian Wildlife Conservancy in daily touring activities
Hosting clients at dinner
Assisting in lodge maintenance duties where required
Assisting in housekeeping duties where necessary
