Chefs - Sal Salis
Experienced Chefs required at Sal Salis- Season: 11 March 2012 - 15th January 2013
Purpose of the Role:
To provide a superior standard and innovative style of cuisine at the camp to match the exclusivity of the beach experience and to provide an entertaining and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing the menus at Sal Salis to fit with a remote beach environment and with food that is of a gourmet standard but in an unfussy yet innovative style, making use of native ingredients that identify the cuisine as uniquely bush Australian.
- Delivering a standard of cuisine that is commensurate with top lodges around Australia and elsewhere in the world.
- Manage the sourcing of food to fit the agreed budgets.
- Providing an informal yet focussed level of service to clients that allows them to feel at home on a luxury camping lodge.
- Provision of meals for staff at the camp

Activities:
- Provision of 2 major meals each day (brunch and dinner)
- Provision of refreshments for guided activites on the property
- Sourcing food provisions in line with budgets
- Setting out kitchen rosters
- Managing kitchen staff to ensure that standards and styles are consistently maintained
- Liasion with Lodge supervisor for support staff at meals
- Soliciting client feedback in making improvements to the menu and service
- Ensuring the maximum hygiene of the kitchen and lodge building
- Generating ideas for developing Sal Salis' standard of cuisine and style of service
- Interacting with guests at the lodge to ensure the best possible experience
- Assisting where necessary with other lodge management activities eg. keeping the lodge building clean
- Assisting in general service delivery in camp
- Assisting in retail outlet duties in camp
- Assisting in housekeeping duties in camp
- Meeting and greeting of guests
